Photographer Shahrokh Hatami 'The Beatles at The Cavern- w/ Neil Aspinall, Liverpool, 1963'

In late 1963, Hatami was sent to Liverpool on assignment by Paris Match magazine to cover the burgeoning Beatlemania phenomenon. By this time the Beatles were forced to hide from their frenzied fans, but Hatami managed to connect with them backstage at the Cavern Club, their most familiar and now iconic surroundings. An intimate shot of the Beatles backstage at the Cavern Club in 1963, featuring Neil Aspinall - a childhood friend of Paul McCartney and George Harrison. Aspinall was their road manager in the early days prior to becoming an executive at Apple Corps.
