Alexey Slusar

Alexey Slusar was born in 1961 in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. He graduated secondary art school, and in 1979 he entered The Academy of Architecture in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. After graduation of academy, in 1984, he started to work as an architect and designer, projecting interiors of public institutions, working as a sculpture and decorator. In 1988, Slusar opened a private design studio in the Ukraine. This studio worked on interiors of restaurants, cafes, clubs, and monumental and decoration art. In 1998 Alexey moved to Prague. As an architect, he admires the different styles in the historic centre – gothic churches next to baroque palaces. As a painter, he can feel the spirit of the middle-aged narrow streets, the atmosphere of arcades, courtyards and all of the other beautiful places in Prague. He fell in love with the mellow ambience of the city, which is what he tries to depict in his paintings. Since 1998, he has participated in numerous exhibitions among galleries in the Czech Republic.
